Jerky for the Troops

Freedom, Independence, Liberty - refer to an absence of undue restrictions and an opportunity to exercise one's rights and powers. Freedom emphasizes the opportunity given for the exercise of one's rights, powers, desires, or the like.

The men and women of the United States Military sacrifice themselves everyday to ensure we maintain our FREEDOM, INDEPENDENCE AND LIBERTY.  It is our job to remember, appreciate, and thank them for their service.  

The Nebraska Bowhunters Association - NBA- is proud to participate in the Jerky for the Troops program started by member Craig Schoneberg.  Since 2009, members have supported this program donating venison for processing and delivery to members of our military stationed overseas.  If you were unable to have a successful hunt this year, for any reason or you would just like to help out, please consider donating any financial amount that you feel comfortable with to this wonderful cause.  100% of donations will go to the Jerky for the Troops to help defray the costs processing, shipping, and handling.

Participate

If you want to participate, here are a few guidelines:

1. Bone the meat, keeping it as clean as possible.

2. Place the meat in one- or two-gallon freezer bags or freezer paper.
(Please don't use garbage-type bags as the meat tends to freezer burn.) 
*It is also a good idea (PLEASE) to write your Permit Number and Seal or Cancellation Number on the bag.

3. Freeze the meat and contact:

About us

In 1984, the idea of an organization that would bring bowhunters together with a common goal to preserve and protect bowhunting was formed and the Nebraska Bowhunters Association (NBA) was born. Now, the NBA is one of Nebraska's premier hunting organizations, with a growing membership, family friendly events, and a firm passion to continue to preserve and promote bowhunting in Nebraska. 

Become a member

Although bowhunting is often a private, quiet affair, members of the NBA benefit greatly from organizing together. Besides the political clout and united front against those opposed to hunting, the camaraderie is perhaps the best bargain for the money. NBA members meet across the state throughout the year at our Banquet in March and Jamboree in August. We would love to have you join us!
