Conservation Fund requests needed

The 2021 NBA Banquet is fast approaching and, as a member of the Conservation Committee, we would like to invite you to send your Conservation Fund requests can be sent to any of the three, Western, Central, Eastern Board Members. The requests should meet the following Conservation Fund Criteria:

Conservation Fund Mission Statement: It is the intent of the NBA to allocate Conservation Fund monies to promote the conservation of Nebraska Big Game animals, maintain habitat necessary to sustain a quality population, secure and protect bowhunter rights through education and by lobbying elected, hired and appointed officials at local, state and federal levels.

Fund Procedures: the fund will be set annually as a budget line item by the NBA Officers. The Conservation Fund is dependent on the solvency of the organization so there is no implied guarantee as to the amount in the fund or that
the fund will exist in any given year.

The Conservation Fund Committee will consist of three NBA board members: Eastern, Central, and Western. This committee will award funds annually at the NBA Banquet in March.

All funding requests must be made in writing no later than March 1, 2021. All documents including requests and
award papers will be given to the members prior to announcement for review and recommendation.

Request for funding will not be confidential and must contain the following information: name, organization, affiliates, address, e-mail, phone number, dates funds are requested,, checks payable to, and full explanation of project details and goals.

Criteria for eligibility and award:

• Does the project benefit big game ani- mals and/or their habitat?

• Does the project benefit bowhunting in general?

• Does the project benefit bowhunting in Nebraska?

• Does the project enhance the percep- tion of bowhunting to the general pub- lic and wildlife professionals?

• What percentage of NBA members would be positively affected if this request was awarded?

COVID-19 NOTE: Kearney has implemented a mandatory mask law, so everyone will be required to wear a mask while they are inside the hotel in a public area (everywhere except your room). If you forget a mask, extras are available. There will be hand sanitizer stations set up throughout the hotel and we will follow all other directed health measures and health department recommendations. Tickets non-transferable but are refundable this year if the banquet is cancelled or if you don’t feel comfortable attending.
