Options for Jamboree Lodging

Forest Service Campgrounds

The Forest Service campground has undergone some nice improvements over the last couple years. The NBA has the group campground reserved for the entire events, as well as the picnic shelter for the BBQ on Saturday evening. The group camping is first-come, first-serve, so be sure to come early and stake your claim to the best spots. If you stay in the Forest Service Group Camping sites, located on 'the hill,' you do not need to pay at the Forest Service camp kiosk - instead you will pay the NBA for your camp fees upon registration.

The rest of the Forest Service campground sites at the Bessey Campground Complex, and those located in Natick and Whitetail, may be reserved through www.recreation.gov or www.reserveamerica.com. There are a few 'Walk Up' camp sites that are first-come, first-serve in these camp grounds as well. Camp sites include those with and without electrical power, as well as those that are tent or trailer sites. Maps of Forest Service campgrounds are also available through the online reservation websites. Be sure to pay your camp fees for these sites through the Forest Service pay station kiosk.

Nebraska State 4-H Camp

The 4-H Camp also has cabins available for rent, or tent and non-electrical trailer/RV campsites conveniently located right next to the Practice Range and the special shoots (White Buffalo, Aerial, Silhouette and Distance Shoots) on Saturday. Those interested in 4-H cabins or camping should contact Lindsay Shearer via email at lshearer2@unl.edu. If you stay in the 4-H cabins or camp on the 4-H grounds, you will pay the lodging fees to the NBA at the time of registration. The NBA will then write one check to the 4-H camp for all usage of 4-H grounds.

Halsey and Thedford

There are also hotel possibilities in Halsey and Thedford for those who would like to 'rough it' outside the forest. The list below includes some of the easily-found options online - others may also be available in phone book listings or through other websites. Call the respective hotel/motel for room availability, reservations, and prices. The Arrowhead Lodge and the Roadside Inn, both in Thedford, also offer RV sites and/or hood ups.
